Being Your True Nature

Join Tenzin Ösel Hita in the redwoods of Land of Medicine Buddha, Santa Cruz, California

A four-day residential Being Experience

“We are bombarded by distractions, and it’s part of the design of the system – we always need to be doing something so that we don’t understand who we are, the mechanics, the science of our mind.”

“If you’re humble, you wouldn’t let the negative destructive emotions come in. For example, if you’re humble, you would never get angry.”

“We can learn about ourselves by observing the outside world, and every moment is an opportunity to learn.”

“How we learn to love ourselves is by appreciating who we are, by understanding our potential, what we can do, the power of who we are, how far we can go.”

“If we had compassion for ourselves, we would have compassion for everybody else.”

“Everything around us has been started and created by the mind. It all started as a thought. That’s how powerful thoughts are. So, that’s why to be aware of our thoughts, to be in control of our thoughts, is so important.”

“I don’t want to create followers, I want to create leaders.”

"You possess the path within yourself.”

“Your well-being will be linked to the universe, linked to karma and linked to the human mind.”

"The more you think about yourself, the more you are going to suffer. If you think about the person next to you more than yourself, all you have is happiness.”

"With each step, each thought, we are creating a whole new universe. Look into someone’s eyes and behold the window to their soul, the galaxy, the universe. That is us, that is you, that is me.”

“Every moment is magic, and we are all living the same moment! We are all connected. Thank you for being who YOU are! One Love."

Each day of the Being Experience will include

  • Coming-out-of-the-dream meditation & other meditative practices guided by Ösel
  • Nature walks with Ösel
  • Yoga & meditation with Wendy Cook
  • Joy Movement (swimming or other activities)
  • Caring-for-your-body food demos with Land of Medicine Buddha chefs Mike D and Steph Rentz
  • Optional restorative yoga with Wendy
  • Breathing exercises for stress reduction
  • Evening workshops with Ösel, psychologist Karuna Cayton, and author Jon Landaw.

34-year-old reincarnate lama Tenzin Ösel Hita is delighted to be sharing his first Being Experience for 21st century modern living with the world. In this unique four-day immersion you’ll learn psychological and physiological techniques to help you connect with your own true nature and innate wisdom.

Learn to nurture your mind and body, awaken your inner awareness, expand your neural pathways, create new thinking patterns, adapt positively to any situation, and ultimately be of greater benefit to the world.

Ösel will share from his own experiences and learning, his studies since childhood at Sera Je Monastic University, and his life of service to others.

“We are a reflection of the universe. We are interdependent with the universe. The universe exists through us; and we exist through the universe. The universe has given us life and the capacity to interact, appreciate, and perceive the universe itself, so that we can actually give it meaning. Therefore, as an individual, our mission is to understand ourselves and discover our inner reality, our true nature. When you understand your inner nature, you can find true happiness, which comes from wanting to benefit other people.”

“The universe exists through us; and we exist through the universe”

A new education for a new world.
